the new DLSS not only looks terrible, it's a great proof of why it's almost always a bad idea to use a generative approach to try and make stuff better: all output approaches the same palatable and boring slop, like a rock that's been smoothed over. it's very similar to that "smart noise remover" by Adobe that was also casually removing people's accent in favour of white General American.
