@avilewis@mstdn.ca The only excuse anyone has given me for this project is that Canada needs the wealth that selling our oil gives us, in order to invest in green policies.
But there's never an answer a pipeline for oil is the investment of choice, instead of things that create jobs & build on our skills here. Many experts say that Canada has the education & expertise to get into sectors like high tech manufacturing.
Things where the investment = jobs & furthering military & climate objectives.

@avilewis@mstdn.ca Instead we choose to throw money at one of the wealthiest industries that is purely extractive with minimal jobs. I'm sure AI data centres are next on this game plan: $100 million dollar investment for a huge building that brings like 7 permanent jobs, raises electricity costs & guzzles water. But it's an "investment" for Canada right? Right?? 😑
