There's an interesting debate in the #hypnokink world about politics and how many (but not all) of us are drawn to the 'evil' hypnotist trope and how, in the context of fantasy, we enjoy it when the villain wins.
As a result, it can be oddly titillating when our villains are political opposites of us and most of the hypno people I know do swing politically left.

At the same time, there's a fine line when the villain hits too close to home to ruin the fun. Greedy corporate control freaks (both maledom and femdom) tend to be big. Cold war error spy plots surface sometimes because of the weird actual govt mind control experiments done during that time. Obviously this is not for everyone and each person has their own limits. I personally draw the line at any fascist mentions or hardcore race play. Instant turn off for me. 2/2
