I bought a Philips Lumea during Covid. Still hair free. It took a long time. Both in how long each session took and for it to stop my hair from growing. I have a few stragglers on my pits. Most likely because it’s a difficult location to diy. Expensive, yes. But I can now spot zap places with re-growth if I ever need to. Works best on light skin with dark hair. I greyed early, and I have a few strands of grey on my leg that didn’t get zapped.

So I read this as removal not growth and did a whole post on my Philips Lumea. Did you mean red light therapy? Thats not a laser. If that’s a yes, I’d recommend finding a place you can try it before buying. The panels are expensive. I use mine for muscle inflammation. It took about 10 weeks to start to feel a difference (healing an old injury that will never be “normal”). I’ve heard RLT being used for skin aging. I don’t know if it’s making a difference on that front. If it is, it’s probably just slowing my wrinkles. I’m not sure the science on using RLT for hair growth is strong. All the peer reviewed papers are for skin care and muscle inflammation. I’m surprised a derm wouldn’t give you an rx for minoxidil. Probably cheaper and proven to work.
