Does anyone have advice for GMing a TTRPG while you have mental health issues? I've got bipolar, and it's pretty easy on the whole to prep & run a bunch of sessions while I'm manic (extra energy, hyperfocus, etc.), but it's hard to do stuff like that when the depression hits afterward. #ttrpg #ttrpgs #mentalhealth #bipolar #depression

@petrosophia@caw.corbode.com Do you only want advice from people who specifically know about bipolar or is other advice welcome? I have chronic fatigue, so I'm used to getting to a scheduled game and no longer having much energy to GM, for example.

@petrosophia@caw.corbode.com I'm not bipolar. My issue is stress and anxiety. There where stretches of time, years, that I ran only games with minimum to no prep, as prep would just weigh on me the entire week up to the game. This is of course very personal. Prep stresses me. Improv much less. To this end I've ran a lot of GMless/full games (can try to list some if you're interested), and a few Powered by the Apocalypse and Forged in the Dark games.
