TIL That Mastodon's media cache is LOTS of small files in LOTS of directories. When presented by this, Synology's HyperBackup is VERY slow to walk them all to decide if they have been changes & need pushing to the S3 bucket setup as a back up location. It took 14hrs to push 99GiB yesterday. I added another couple of directories (totalling an additional 1.5GiB) and it looks like it's going to take another 14hrs to check again. Need to keep this in mind for Dad's off site 1TiB of Photos #nas
