@forth@neuromatch.social Some of the transit agencies switched to better filters after COVID, It might be worth checking to see if what level filter they're using in their HVAC. You can also use a CO2 meter for a rough proxy for how stale indoor air is. the higher the number the more likely you are to be breathing air that has recently been in another human.

@forth@neuromatch.social I think it all depends on how well ventilated it is, which makes broad analysis hard. Tbh, I think because time spent on it tends to be short it's not as high risk as most people think *if* it's not too busy and ventilated well, but I'm not aware of research about that. That's just my gut feeling. I keep an aranet with me so I can spot check ventilation and develop an intuition of risk over time, personally.

@forth@neuromatch.social probably just the same CO2 level math that you can use in any other public indoor space? That’s the reasoning I use, personally. Different trains can have different levels of ventilation, occupancy, etc., so you can’t make a prediction without measuring the CO2 yourself (I think). The next level is calculating that against wastewater levels, if you have access to that.
