Our survey respondents report that Musk’s takeover of Twitter (and accompanying changes to the platform) drove many users’ platform migration decisions. Despite common narratives that folks only want a safer version of Twitter, the technical and cultural features of Mastodon itself were also a draw for many users. (2/N)
