Weird sensation has set in after 6 months where the iPhone Air doesn't feel thin anymore, it just feels normal/baseline, but picking up other phones feels like a prop phone

@christianselig@mastodon.social I’ve been having that, but with my iPhone mini that I dusted off for testing. Why are phones so big and heavy?

@christianselig@mastodon.social absolutely! I’m afraid I might be ruined now for regular phones. I’m a little disappointed with myself for choosing the black model (wanted a change from my gold 13pro), and I wish the display was the standard phone size, but otherwise love this thing. Funny that many people in the wild have remarked on it and didn’t even realize the Air exists! So weird that Apple decided not to market this thing…

  • @christianselig@mastodon.social I cant imagine living life with the priorities of someone who buys an iPhone Air and then posts about it on Fedi. It must be constant turmoil!

  • @christianselig@mastodon.social this happened to me when I moved from a MacBook Pro hi-res antiglare to a 2012 Retina. The new one was “nice,” but after a month, picking up the old one felt like someone had weighted it for a prank. Impossibly heavy. It also happened when I had a brief dalliance with a 13-inch and then went back to a 15. I couldn’t believe I had put up with all that bulk and weight. But I love pixels, so, r.i.p. me I guess 👀

@christianselig@mastodon.social I have to put mine in a case every once in a while for travel or events when I’m more likely to have hard drops, and it gives me a small hit of that original magic every time I get to take the case back off again.

@christianselig@mastodon.social I held the iPhone Air for 3 seconds in the Apple Store and immediately went “oh yeah, this is how phones used to feel… it was much better like this”
