Hey, so, it seems stupid but burgers are in the news recently and I actually have something to say about the meat industry. I used to work in the industry in a more tech-related context, but I was able to get a glimpse of the logistics. I watched, first hand, how burger patties are manufactured and what actually goes into that. The supplier I worked for supplied beef patties for just 1 multi-regional fast food chain in the US. They produced an average of 100,000 pounds of patties every day.

Of course, they don't operate every day of the year and they don't always produce the same amount throughout the year, but I extrapolated that they produced somewhere around 20-30 million pounds of patties every year. This is just one chain, that doesn't even have restaurants in every state. I also know that cattle are the most environmentally expensive livestock by far. It's not even close, they require more land, water and food than anything else.
