The link below will open NASA’s FIRMS map and show MODIS and VIIRS satellite heat detections for the area around Iran. Click the hamburger menu in the upper right corner to see the legend. Some heat detections are for fires on islands and some are for fires on ships. You can zoom in and then turn the data on/off to see if a particular hotspot is on an island or on a ship (i.e. no island visible when you are zoomed in and have turned off the MODIS/VIIRS data).
