@ghosttie that is frankly terrifying. Believing the lies over your own memory is never good.

@ghosttie Oh wow! Is this where we're headed as a society? Very scary! Being gaslit by AI transcripts?! I have been putting off a tedious job that I've been tasked with which is comparing a Zoom AI transcript of a meeting that I was in with the copious notes and audio recording of the meeting that I took my own self. I don't want to involve AI at all, but the organizer wanted me to try it this one time to see if it makes my job any easier. (I've been doing this job for a year, volunteer, and I feel my process is pretty streamlined, but it still takes a good chunk of time each month.) I can already tell you that the AI transcript will not help me work any faster. I'm going to have to check every single word and correlate them with what I wrote down. It's going to take much longer to compare and correct that transcript versus listening to my recording and correcting my own notes. 🙄 I like and trust my process, and my notes have been acclaimed as in depth, helpful, and "like being there"; I like using my own brain; and I trust what I wrote down and the recording that I took. But now, reading this, I'm super curious to see how much Zoom AI hallucinated compared to the actual notes and recording that I took. All this to say you've actually spurred me to get that work done that I've been avoiding, so thank you! I can't wait to prove that *my* 100% human-labor-based system is the best, that I should continue doing it that way, and that Zoom AI can go jump in a lake (which it probably drained in order to even generate that transcript). 😬

@ghosttie we've moved from the information era into the 'post-truth' (lies) era and now towards the the 'hallucination' (random stuff) era.
