RE: https://mas.to/@dfwsupportcommittee/116202874985614801 If you needed a clearer indication of the real function of this trial, look no further than this man. If you have ever seen his name before, it is likely because he penned this godforsaken document conflating mutual aid with terrorism. https://nextcloud.manyworlds.fit/s/qYjyo63Ssomx4ic This trial is the culmination of years of demonizing any form of of bottom-up movement building on the left. What is being decided is nothing short of whether we have any right to resist at all. #ICE #Trump #NoKings #USPolitics

@coop@denton.social I'm not boosting this until it shows up in the Wayback Machine or archive.ph because our identities have proven to not be safe with The Intercept. For details ask Reality Winner. They have great reporting but lousy OpSec. Do you want your IP on list? Neither do I.

@coop@denton.social Let them understand this: If they claim that the right to peaceful protest has been revoked, enough will "protest" with less peaceful means to make them sorely regret it. The Bill of Rights does not run out of paper after the First Amendment. I saw this with the FACE act in the 1990's. I opposed it for now-obvious strategic reasons even though I was doing clinic defense myself in the same era! Exactly as I forecast, the FACE act did in fact spare us from having to get up at 4:30AM for yet another round of clinic defense. The blockades that had been such a nuisiance but which we had mostly defeated petered out. The problem was not all the Operation Rescue types chose "go home" when this "go big or go home" legislation went into effect. Enough of them went big-and went loud-that we soon had a far worse problem. Clinic arsons and even bombings soared. One of my friends was awakened twice by the sound of late night bomb blasts targetting the same clinic. Worse yet was the shootings: some of the former Operation Rescue protesters started shooting doctors and clinic escorts. Soon doctors and clinic escorts had to wear body armor. In 1996 at a combined progressive protest in DC, one of the buttons being hawked by vendors showed a bullseye and read "I'm pro choice and I shoot back." It took a decade for this violence to die down. That in turn may have happened only because the failure of the Dems to play as tough as the GOP on SCOTUS nominees. This failure opened the door for the eventual destruction of abortion rights formerly protected by Roe v Wade. For the last two and a half decades before Dobbs, abortion was hard to get in many places because the shootings and bombings drove away doctors and discouraged medical students from even entering the field. Unlike today, we did not yet have the pill networks that have hobbled antiabortion laws or other means of preventing clinics from operating. Thus, I conclude that the violence that came after the FACE act was more effective for the far right than the peaceful but disruptive protests that preceded it. Today the shoe is on the other foot on FACE, which is now used on activists targetting fake clinics that pose as abortion clinics but dispense only religious propaganda.
