It’s wild how dismissive so many people are about the cost of gasoline because “I don’t drive so it doesn’t impact me.” As if you don’t consume goods which are transported using fuel? Lol.
For every $2 per barrel price increase it results in 1¢ per gallon at the gas pump, and every 50¢ increase at the gas pump results in ~0.6% increase in inflation which affects everybody. It sounds like an insignificant amount, but those <1% changes to inflation are wildly impactful. 🛢️👨🏻💻
