Once upon a time, map makers added fake streets to maps. Why? To catch illegal copies. If a "trap street" from your map appeared in someone else's map, you could prove they didn't make the map themselves. I take it's time for trap unit tests. Tests, that make software behave incorrectly in some totally irrelevant way.
