Fresh start on this this morning, from the little bit of rambling I did last night: Let's play with the question of how you can divide a square up into n sub-rectangles each of which has sides of a 2:1 ratio. The really simple case is n=2: we'll just fill up a square with two 2:1 rectangles, easy peasy!

    @joshmillard@mastodon.social This was problem 4 (out of 5) on the 2016/17 Hungarian Varga Tamás Mathematical Competition for 7th graders (12-13-year-olds).
