Are there still any Android phones worth getting if I want a phone that actually lasts or do I have to bite the bullet and finally switch to an iPhone? Looking at Android phone ratings rn it looks like if I want a good phone I have to choose between Pixel with their never-ending jank and Samsung with loads of spyware. (I know fairphone exists but I don't earn enough to be able to justify that. I still need a good performance to cost ratio)

@njion@bark.lgbt I mean, which part isn't lasting? Software support? Yeah, you're kinda stuck with Google or Samsung AFAIK, neither of which I (personally) love Hardware dying or hard to repair? I'll be honest: I unfortunately don't have a suggestion - I've been using BlackBerry (KeyOne, 2LE, Q20) for over a decade, which I don't believe to be representative of the average person Software getting laggy or slow and battery life taking major hits? That's Google Play Services getting heavier every year. The only real answer is to ditch Google or remain on the treadmill, the former of which I'm happy to talk about; from advantages, to drawbacks, to how-to's
