Tried watching Small Prophets and temporarily went mad trying to remember where I'd heard the homunculi story before. It's in Lawrence Durrell, the Alexandria Quartet (riffing on Paracelsus). Posting this in case anyone else is temporarily going mad over it. #SmallProphets

In further evidence of how unreliable my memory has become: this morning I remembered I copy-edited one of Mackenzie Crook's children's books in 2013 (The Lost Journals of Benjamin Tooth, which also features small magical creatures). Looking back through files I find a lot of emails from him - a lovely chap to correspond with and unsurprisingly funny. So strange how things just get wiped.
