Yesterday I finished reading @vga256's book "Mages & Modems" and loved every minute of it. It's a quite personal collection of memory vignettes, each connected to some aspect of computing in the 80s and 90s. The technology angle is what originally attracted me to the book, but it was the personal experiences with this technology that really kept the pages turning. I really enjoyed seeing the same hardware and software I also grown up with through the eyes of another passionate nerd, and learning how it shaped his life. This book made me realize that I love such personal accounts, and will try to find more memoirs like this. More than that, it made me want to write down some of my memories in similar way.
