A very interesting piece in Jewish Currents—a progressive Jewish magazine. They have excellent articles. I highly recommend this magazine. In a Spanish high school, we learned about the archaic form of Spanish spoken by the Sephardic Jewish community in Turkey. They lived in the Iberian Peninsula during the Islamic rule and were expelled when the Catholic Kings took back the whole peninsula (Reconquista). Note: Christians expelled Jews while Muslims didn't. https://jewishcurrents.org/reclaiming-the-ladino-left
