In D&D, one of the defined actions a character can take is Help -- assist another character in some way, to make success more likely. *But* it has to be something where a second person can reasonably assist. Having two people trying to pick a lock, for example, won't increase the chances of success. This is a good metaphor for parallel computing. Can two threads grab the ends of a task and lift it together, or does the task require the focused concentration of an individual? #DnD #computing
