@grepe@ieji.de Reminds me of the movie "Real Genius" as mitch goes to class through out the year, and more and more students are replaced with tape recorders in the lecture hall, until the professor is also replaced with a reel to reel tape player.

@grepe@ieji.de sure but if it's a consolation: LLM didn't actually replace him. He still gets paid but just has more time for golfing without these meaningless calls for the peons.

@grepe@ieji.de this CEO could have been a PDF

@grepe@ieji.de So all that remains is to find out where their pay and perqs are going and re-appropriate them for the workers' co-op that the company is just on the brink of becoming.

@grepe@ieji.de generating that presentation cost too much so no $10 Starbucks gift card for your birthday this year slave

@zaire@fedi.absturztau.be 2026-03-06 15:09
@grepe@ieji.de why would employees care at all for the company’s earnings? they have you march in to watch that slopwrangled presentation just so you can see how much value is being extracted from you straight into the CEO’s bottomless pockets? what’s the point of that

@grepe@ieji.de Perhaps they drew a little too much inspiration from season 2 of the Shell Game podcast.

@grepe@ieji.de The difference between #LLM #AI replacing you and it replacing the CEO is that the CEO will continue to pull his paycheck and have more time for golf, while you’ll just be out of work and destitute, the “way God intended it!”

@grepe@ieji.de I read that with Jaw increasingly dropping open. God gods, I am genuinely glad I'm out of the workforce.

@grepe@ieji.de Was your presence mandatory? How was it controlled, if no management was present? How did the people present react? Did anybody leave?

@grepe@ieji.de Worse than our CEO doing over an hour of review _every day_ in person , much of it the same crap every day?! I'd much rather he had an AI do this and I would happily send my AI agent to the meeting in my place to report back on anything actually relevant and we can all get on with doing something useful instead...

@grepe@ieji.de I'm sure I saw an article a year or two ago that said CEOs were the most valuable role to automate, given how few of them achieve long-term results better than random choice, and how much they get paid for it.
