There is nothing like the loneliness of autism. Desiring some form of connection but finding it too painful to even pursue anymore. Sure, I can manipulate anyone into being my friend. My masking is off the charts when I have the energy for it. I can be anyone you want me to be just by reading you and contorting myself into the perfect doormat for you to walk all over. But I don't seek connections with people that would never accept who I actually am anymore. Which unfortunately is the vast majority of the modern world. #autism
