@jripley@mastodon.social Regarding ripple current, it's naturally problematic re electrolytics, but the opposite can be true with a grip of parallel low ESL MLCCs (some things need ripple current, obvs ckt dependent)...just throwin it out there.
I think generally I only ever put a chonker electrolytic down these days: if it does save precious board space, building down to cost and there's a relevant assembly cost diff, actually need some outrageous voltage rating.
Whatever it is, don't forget inrush ;)
