I oppose capital punishment for political crimes. I instead advocate making them politically impotent and useless. Why you ask? History has rarely looked kindly upon those who have used the death penalty for political purposes, and it almost always winds up being abused once we cross that line to eliminate those who say “maybe we shouldn’t be so violent” or “perhaps we can do things better.” That’s why I don’t advocate the death penalty for say, Sam Altman or Jeff Bezos. What will it achieve. They are men. Their ideas are the problem.
