A very confused looking man walked into my shop today saying “google told me you guys take… food donations..???” I directed him to a nearby foodbank but its very cool to see that the entire world is now michael scott driving into a lake

@hannah@posts.rat.pictures when I was a kid I read many weird fantasy novels that were about entire empires going mad, about times of chaos when everyone was beset by confusion, and so forth. and I thought stuff like that would never happen. But now it's happening. The Age of Madness is here.

@hannah@posts.rat.pictures I had someone come to my place of work asking if they could enter using a membership card that wasn't valid here, showed us that the info came from Google AI, and then when we said that that was not our website and wrong information they replied "Well are you going to honour it??". We politely declined, as it meant we would be giving our product away for free.
