First up: a fantastic, but pricey, physical Conway's Game of Life board - built using a cheap microcontroller connected to a large number of expensive self-illuminating tactile switches.

Then Google's given a glimpse at what the future of Android "sideloading" - what we used to call "installing software" before the walls appeared around the garden - will look like once mandatory developer registration comes in. It's... a bit of a pain, and includes 24-hour wait(!) before you're actually allowed to install the software of your choice on the smartphone (or tablet) you've paid for. https://www.hackster.io/news/google-unveils-its-advanced-flow-for-unverified-third-party-app-installation-and-a-24-hour-wait-e646ae16a31e #Technology #News #Hackster #Android #Security
