Gothic is kind of the Trespasser of RPGs. You know, the kind of game your average gamer never heard about but which inspired the developers behind a vast array of their favorite games. Without Gothic, we wouldn't have STALKER. More to the point, without Gothic, we wouldn't have The Witcher, the third installment of which is commonly argued to be *the* best RPG, period (tho I hear BG3 is giving it a fair run for its money these days).
