That's how you can run emulators from MAME/NES/SNES/etc without even understanding the code of each game, you already know how the console internal works.

@waltercool@pl.slash.cl You cannot debug more than the most trivial of bugs without the source code. gdb cannot give good output without full debug symbols and a copy of the source code to reference. Such ancient consoles had relatively simple hardware and therefore most games would run even with an inaccurate emulation of the hardware. Merely running software, or maybe being able to debug why it doesn't run, is not freedom.
