No matter what you think of AfD, it’s weird for the US president to publicly comment on a subnational election in Germany, and cheer for a party getting a plurality. The specifics—neo-Nazis, transnational fascist solidarity—make it extra bad. But it’s not normal, and shows where his priorities lie.
