I'm also happy to announce we've got a new sponsor for the LVFS: #Framework Although there are about a half a dozen OEMs that have promised to sponsor LVFS, Framework is the first to have actually signed the paperwork. You can see the new logo on https://fwupd.org/ and also the new "sponsorship pill" on various vendor pages like https://fwupd.org/lvfs/vendors/#framework

I also wanted to say a huge thanks to Framework, not just for the sponsorship -- but also for the pressure they've put on their suppliers to support fwupd and the LVFS. I'm a big fan of reducing e-waste and repairing my electronics, and I'm glad to be a helping in a small way with that. Thanks again!

@hughsie (Quite sincerely) I hope this gives y’all the leverage to get a few other vendors to sign on too, and then *drop Framework asap* I get what it can be like to source funding for foss/public infra work. and I don’t begrudge you finding that for this (good!) project. but Framework is no bueno these days, and I struggle to see their engagement on this as anything other than image management

@hughsie Great news! Hopefully the others are shamed into following through on their promises!

@hughsie well, at least the big tent fascists are giving money to a sensible project now
