The cast-iron Bridgeton Cross Shelter, known locally as The Umbrella. A major landmark in the East End of Glasgow, it was made by George Smith's Sun Foundry in 1874. At one time, it has seating underneath and was a popular meeting place. It was restored and repainted in the early 2020s, and over 150 years since it was created, it remains an impressive and unique piece of street furniture.
