The march of progress... I've taken delivery of a #Cisco Nexus N5K-C5624Q switch for my home lab. It has twelve 40 Gbps QSFP ports. My first exposure to ethernet was 10Base2 and 10Base5 in all its CSMA/CD glory. This was in the early 1990s. Cheapernet/Yellow String, T-pieces, terminators, 3C503 & NE2000 cards... I thought there'd never be a need to go beyond 10 Mbps. How times change.
