Obviously a lot of this is out of date today; it's been 8 years, so the figures all need to be adjusted for inflation, population growth, etc, and this proposal was also based on a STATE-level single payer program, not a federal one.
However, it still provides some insight into his thinking. 2/

One thing I gave El-Sayed credit for was that he was up front about the fact that yes, most people's taxes would indeed increase by some amount in order to pay for it. A common tactic I've seen by some M4A advocates is to handwave this by implying that only the wealthy would see their taxes go up.
