Well that sucks.
I've taken the seattle/portland rail service a few times decades ago and it was awesome.
Also, Portland's union station was pretty great, back in the day (I get the sense that it's current ownership/status is in some kind of flux):

@Unlikelylass@mspsocial.net I love travel by rail and it’s sad Portland will be out of service for so long. Hopefully when it’s done it will look like Philadelphia’s station which is stunning after the rebuild.
