Transphobes are misogynists too, very tight correlation there. They see trans men as women and therefore harmless (and the Compliance Crew's website speaks to the "infantilization" of trans men as a reason they felt they could risk this). But that a "man" would want to "turn into" a woman (that is how they wrongly see it) just blows their minds, because women are supposed to be inferior.

@Nonya_Bidniss@infosec.exchange Plus, they still see trans women as men and therefore project their own abusive behavior onto them. Yes, all of this is dangerous nonsense. Trans women are made to take the fall for cis men's sex crimes. Non-abusive men are not afraid of trans people. You see it with awful straight men's fear of gay men, too: the straight men are afraid of being harassed or raped, i.e., being treated the way they treat women.
