Also an episode not too far back had a very subtle message about the anti-Semitism and racism that was rampant at posh country clubs of the era, but they weren't brave enough to make it have an actual point. Thankfully, Mary Tyler Moore would actually do it proper three years later, in "Some of My Best Friends are Rhoda."
