But I think yellow jackets can build nests in the ground and they might be hard to spot if there aren’t that many flying in and out of the nest. I learned the hard way when I ran over a nest a few times with a lawn mower. By the second pass they were really upset.

@stevegio@gardenstate.social @Puck@sfba.social I live on 10 acres of mostly natural vegetation. They could be anywhere. But I know that they are not in my tiny lawn.
