second string connected, about 650w of actual output right now, not bad for a nearly free setup of 10-15 year old reused parts (6x SolarFrontier 165Wp + SMA sb2500) that isn't even aligned with the sun (just lazily mounted on the shed)

according to my home usage graphs it is actually getting more than 800w sometimes! I don't have a proper connection to the inverter, but I did manage to capture it generating 796W on a half cloudy day before noon, so it is not unlikely! The array is 990Wp (6x 165Wp SolarFrontier), 15+ year old panels, using an equally old inverter that's made for 2500W arrays, and not aimed at the sun, so I honestly think that's a pretty decent score :drgn_sparkle: #diysolar #solar

@anthropy@mastodon.derg.nz enough for some #offgrid #tech. - Pretty shure a lot of folks could easily work with that and some battery storage to buffer higher loads.
