On the rails again…
Today is the start of an 8-day holiday in the North of Spain. @wendy@mendeddrum.org and I are headed to Madrid with @quixoticgeek@social.v.st and @MagicLike@soc.sekundenklebertransportverbot.de, where we will be joined by @darkphoenix@not.an.evilcyberhacker.net before heading off to León later on this evening.
Today’s itinerary: https://moof.space/trip/2026-08-11
León is, of course, right in the center of the path of the eclipse across Spain tomorrow.
Not only that, but it’s also one of the extremes of the longest metre-gauge railway in Europe, what used to be known as FEVE.
But for the moment we can sit back and relax on this lovely Renfe S103 Velaro-E and speed to Madrid.

When did the Renfe on-board announcement tone lose a note? And when did the English voice go northern?
