@jschauma@mstdn.social "I do not care about the details" -- that's spot on. And the same people will claim to have a strong attention to detail.

@paulshryock@phpc.social @jschauma@mstdn.social Y' know? I just spent all afternoon talking to co-pilot about setting up a spreadsheet I'm working on. It helped me with formula options I didn't know about, and helped me get several of them optimized. You'll claim that's because I don't care about formulas, but I just don't have the entire suite of excel formulas memorized. Before I started doing this sort of work with co-pilot, I would have been editing this report every single day to update all the references. Now it's going to take me a couple of days to set up, and it'll be good for the entire test date range, which is a couple of months. It's fun to come up with knee-jerk comments, and I totally agree that sometimes people are using AI in stupid ways. Ways. It's kind of a variant of garbage in garbage out. But I'm really, really tired of people trying to claim that everything people do with AI is unnecessary and wrong. I literally have a multi-tab spreadsheet proving it's not.
