Little Kid was working on his letters. One of the words for "t" in the workbook is "television". It has a picture of an old TV, the type that had an antenna.
Little kid: that's a radio
Me: it's a TV, it has a screen for watching pictures
Little kid: oh wow, it's a really old one
Me: yes
Little Kid: why does it have an antenna?
Me: that's how it worked in the past
Little Kid: oh wow, like in great-grandpa time?
Me:.. well.. when I was little, TV's had antennas.
Little Kid: Oh my god, when was that? like in the 90's???
😂

@marsiposa@social.coop Can't blame the kid. It doesn't just sound like another century, it *was* another century. Actually it was another millenium. On the other hand terrestrial TV (used with an antenna) was deactivated only a few years ago in Germany. Another step away from digital sovereignty, if you ask me.
