@bich@apobangpo.space And most times, the doctors saying this don't refer out to or even recommend dieticians or nutritionists, which shows that they literally don't care *how* the patient loses weight as long as they do, regardless of how unhealthy it *actually* is. I think that's why GLP-1s are so appealing to them, because it's another step of abstracting the responsibility onto the patient.

I've definitely looked up some conditions where the recommended non-pharmacologic management may involve weight loss, diet, and exercise first, but I don't know if it's understood why. I wonder how accessible dieticians are? I work in a setting with uninsured patients and often they decline my (free) referral to our lone dietician.
