This is a fragment of weaving from Peru, 900-1430 AD.
"Hey I'm doing some weaving, I'm just gunna put a little guy on it"
It's not embroidered on, it's part of the weave. They took the time to decorate the cloth just because they could and I love that.

@frogglin@theblower.au I'm reading a lot about Neo-Gothic and Arts and Crafts, John Ruskin and William Morris lately and I don't know what they knew or thought about precolumbian art but I think this is the sort of thing he would have liked
