Alright, so I'm working on my online presence for Fusterclucker, thanks to the awesome work of @meljoann@topspicy.social to integrate #Owncast with the subscriber stream of Ghost. I have made zero progress with this as I am faced with questions related to second and third degree choices with how to set up my subscriber only radio hour type setup. I'm looking at my options for #Ghost, to start (before I look at hosting Owncast). Is self hosting this in a cloud provider going to save me any money at all? What is the time commitment for self hosting Ghost? For Owncast #musicians and other streamers who are NOT sharing copies of the stream to YouTube or some other permanent record of the performance - how much DMCA shit do you deal with?

If it helps, my end goal is to stream EDM performances of old jazz standards and my own tunes. I know that I have to work with a performing rights org for performance rights of those standards because so few of them are in the public domain. That side of this is going to involve at least a consultation with an attorney before I do anything serious with this.
