@PaulaToThePeople@climatejustice.social It was in a comment on this post https://www.reddit.com/r/Snorkblot/comments/1virqof/a_proud_moment_in_british_history/ I am willing to bet that is where Sir Pterry Pratchett got the idea for Rincewind using a sock full of sand to attack the Sorcerer. A sock full of sand is basically an improvised blackjack / cosh / sap after all. A pool ball or half a brick in a sock is an improvement on sand and both are often easier to acquire. Just make sure its a sturdy sock.
