@felis_catus_domesticus@toot.community Yes, I used the drill press to do pilot holes the last time I was there. Didn’t bother with countersinking though, as my wood was soft pine. I remember now how just working at a slow pace, trying not to botch the job felt super tranquil. Very zen, as a matter of fact! 😊

@ChaplinTokyo@social.vivaldi.net sounds crazy but gluing wood also has quite a zen to it. making large pieces from smaller ones. Maybe similar to blacksmithing with wood. You have to understand the properties of the material, it's grain and inner tension. Wood is an interesting medium.
