Life tip: you can get water leak sensors for like $30, and this will save your ass when you, as an overly specific example, remove the laundry machine drain hose from the drain to check a plumbing issue, forget to put it back, then the next one to come by runs laundry without noticing. Caught it when only through putting most of a laundry load of water on the floor, instead of giving it all hours to soak into every non-concrete surface in the basement.

We got one that blares a nearly fire alarm volume alert from a base station and the sensor location like a year ago, and I'm pretty sure it saved us several thousand dollars today. The thing having to do or pay for all house maintenence has taught me: water and fire are about equally expensive to have spreading around structures. So I got these to lower my anxiety about that last year and it turns out that was a good plan!
