I think we have to assume the voice wants the silos to continue to exist, if and only if they follow "the rules." The voice values that for some reason
Destroying yourself with violence is sub optimal, so "do what I say to avoid self destruction" makes sense.
But a silo that breaks "the rules" is not valued either, so the voice can threaten the head of IT into compliance.
Since we know there are 50 of them, sounds like experimental control to me.
Voice keeps experiments running

@pseudonym@mastodon.online still doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Unnecessary additional conflict. I mean, I get it, it's a throwback to how hal9.0.0.0 lost the narrative and killed the humans that were part of its mission. I think they could take that all out and stull have a very mysterious and dramatic story. I understand this is based on a book? I wonder if that’s better…
