Just discovered that after Google discontinued the free google app accounts and I was forced to merge my chipersoft.com domain into my paid service, I apparently failed to configure the catchall correctly. So the vast majority of email going to that domain has just been vanishing into the void.
Their UI for setting this up is so arcane that I just gave up and finally signed up for fastmail.

I've now migrated all my mail receiving domain names over to fastmail. Holy shit do they make domain setup easy! And six users on my account is cheaper than one user on the google apps system. Now if only I could find a google drive replacement that wasn't garbage.
